Mom and Pop owner operators Kathleen Waite and Robert Trathen developed Peppin back in 2010.

Physical retail included the flagship store on Jervois Rd, Herne Bay. And the boutique BLOC collective in Mt Eden.

We currently are focussed on Wholesale and Online.

Rob is a full-time freelance photographer. Rob picked up the family camera while on holiday at the age of 13 and never put it back down. Lucky us he's our in-house photographer and all round tech guy.

Kath comes with a fashion background, studied Fashion at AUT, has plenty of retail management experience, and Peppin is only one of many clothing labels that she has worked on. Kath spends her time - Making, Mending, Recycling, Teaching, and Parenting to son Jet. Busy times !

Making - main Designer, Pattern Maker and Manufacturer for Peppin. In-house Production Ninja!   As well as taking on independent contracts ( this is why Peppin can halt at times as the focus is put elsewhere).

Mending -  Mantra repair and re-use, Kath helps run a local mending business - Mendwell servicing the Kumeu region.

Recycling - Collecting textiles to be reused instead of heading to landfill. These textiles are used for my school projects, and sampling - more to come in this area...

Teaching - Year 7 and 8 Textiles teacher.

Parenting - with Rob to son Jet , the baby who started this whole journey in the first place ! The best of all the jobs :)

Values - hopefully looking into our actions you can see where our values lie -

sustainable, mindful, conscious and slow.
